tie dye and space dye

I've collected some really beautiful fleeces from some lovely farms and had loads of help from farmers really interested in what is going to happen to their fleeces.All the farms in gorgeous Lancashire countryside and ..... I forgot to take a camera on all 3 trips! So here instead are some images of my tie dying and space dying.

Open Farm Sunday June 11th

😭😢😢😢Its Open Farm Sunday at Low Bankside Farm,Cartmel LA11 7NR.Fleeces will be from there as well as Silverdale this year and I'd really hoped to be there to do some spinning but can't make it after all so I'm really disappointed but I'm sure it'll be a great day if anyone can get to it.See Fishwick Farms facebook page for details

welly wool and boot cuffs

Heres an old fashioned remedy that apparently stops chilblains and blisters! Line the soles of your wellies or walking boots with carded washed fleece for comfort and add boot cuffs for a cosy topping.I make no claims yet about the blisters and chilblains but it certainly feels very comfortable.The idea is currently being tested so watch this space!

Hand dyed wool

Here is the hand dyed  sock wool which knits up really well and is soft and hard wearing so both comfortable and durable!It is spun from the fleeces of North Country Cheviot and Masham sheep on the farms in Silverdale and Yealand Conyers.We've taken inspiration from the land and seascape for the shades used, representing sea,sand,sky ,woodland and famous Morecambe Bay Sunsets!
